It's very important to find a material that can withstand temperatures of at least 90°C, strong acids and bases, and is cheap. Chlorinating PVC resin changes CPVC (Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride) by increasing the chlorine content from 56.7% to 63–75%. This improves the stability of chemicals and heat, making it perfect for cpvc high-temperature corrosion-resistant plastic uses.

3. Main Benefits of CPVC: CPVC Material for Strong Acid and Alkali Environments
 
3.1 Unmatched stability at high temperatures (90°C continuous)
 
Grey CPVC Sheet stays stiff up to 90°C for a long time (120°C for a short time), which is important for cpvc for chemical tank lining 90°C. It doesn't creep when it's hot, unlike PVC, which softens and changes shape. AHD's precise chlorination makes sure that hot acid/alkali tanks can always handle heat.
 
3.2 Better Resistance to Corrosion
 
CPVC can handle concentrated HCl, H₂SO₄ (≤70%), NaOH, and hypochlorite without aging, cracking, or swelling. It lasts 30% longer than PVC in chemical environments, making it the best plastic sheet for the electroplating industry (etching and cleaning lines).
 
3.3 Affordable and Simple to Make
 
CPVC is 20–30% more expensive than PVC but 80% less expensive than PTFE/PEEK. It cuts, drills, welds, and bonds easily, which cuts machining time in half compared to metals. 
 
Important Point: Grey CPVC Sheet can handle heat better than PVC/UPVC by 30°C or more and can handle strong acids and bases that PVC can't. It works 80% as well as PEEK but costs only 1/8 as much, making it perfect for industrial cpvc sheet for chemical processing.

4. Applications for specific industries
 
4.1 Processing of Chemicals
 
Use: Industrial cpvc sheet for chemical processing, such as tanks, reactors, fume hoods, and piping.
Media: acids at 90°C, chlor-alkali, and organic solvents
 
4.2 Electroplating
 
Use: Tank liners, heat exchangers, and plating racks (plastic sheet that doesn't rust for the electroplating industry)
Media: hot (60–90°C) etching solutions, strong bases, and cyanide baths
Advantage: Doesn't corrode, doesn't get metal in it, lasts for more than 5 years
 
4.3 Treating Wastewater
 
Use: A plastic sheet that can handle high temperatures for treating wastewater (digesters, clarifiers, and sludge tanks)
Media: hot wastewater between 80 and 90 degrees Celsius, high chlorine, and a pH range of 1 to 13
Advantage: It can handle thermal shock and biogenic corrosion, and it needs less maintenance than steel.
 
4.4 Service with hot acid
 
Use: High-density CPVC plastic bar for hot acid service, like pump shafts, valve seats, and gaskets.
Sulfuric/hydrochloric acid at 90°C
