PC (Polycarbonate) Its cost is significantly higher than that of bakelite, and its long-term temperature resistance (120℃) is lower than that of bakelite, making it prone to stress cracking. Bakelite is more suitable for cost-sensitive applications and applications requiring medium to low temperatures (<150℃).
ABS Poor heat resistance (80~100℃), flammable (flame retardants required), low mechanical strength (easily broken). Bakelite is irreplaceable in applications requiring high temperature and high strength resistance.
SMC (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) Complex molding process (requires molding), high cost (approximately 1.5 to 2 times that of Bakelite), and high brittleness. Bakelite is suitable for large or small batch processing of simple structures.
Metal (steel/aluminum) Conductive (requires additional insulation), prone to rust, heavy. Bakelite is superior in applications requiring insulation, lightweighting, or corrosion resistance.
 
 
Bakelite remains a viable material for electrical panels, especially in low- to mid-range, traditional equipment.
